Long Eaton All Media Art Club Update

July's watercolour workshop with Tony Cowlishaw was certainly very different from anything we have done with him before. A watercolour scene of Venice proved very daunting for some of the members as we had to actually draw the picture before we could paint it! It's alright tracing the picture (we don't call it cheating) but to actually draw it all out and get the perspective right was some else.
Despite everyone's misgiving the pictures all turned out very well, some of the members who had never done watercolours before put some of us who had in the shade, many thanks to Tony for a brilliant day.
The Wilsthorpe School Exhibition turned out to be a big success and for all those who attended it. I hope you enjoyed some of the stunning artwork from both students of the School and some local artists. Keep your eye out for this event next year. The School used our display boards and this is the first time they have been used by an outside organisation, so we are pleased to say that they can now be used by local community groups for a small fee. 50 boards and posts are available.
During the next month we are looking forward to a summer school link with Longmoor School. They have an after school art club and wished to continue their sessions during the school holidays and we are honoured that they will be coming to join us to finish any projects they have ongoing and give them the chance to try something new.
